Mary Seacole: Her legacy & “a problem”

“According to report last month by the World Bank, almost three-quarters of the nurses who train in the English-speaking Caribbean leave to work in the United States, Britain or Canada.  This is causing a problem.

The Economist story not only speak of the current nursing shortages in the Caribbean, it is a great historic reminder of the many contributions black women, like Mary Seacole, made during wars, and to health institutions during the mid to late 1800s.
